NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Police in Abaco seized two (2) firearms and a quantity of ammunition on Sunday 11th August, 2024, leading to the arrest of three (3) adult males.
Preliminary reports confirm that around 2:00 a.m., officers on mobile patrols conducted a standard stop-and-search of a blue Mazda Demio on S. C. Bootle Highway where two (2) unlicensed firearms were discovered in the vehicle, leading to the apprehension of the two (2) occupants, aged 33 and 27.
Following this arrest, officers executed a search warrant at the 33-year-old male residence in Central Pines Estates. During the search, a quantity of ammunition was found inside the home, which resulted in the subsequent arrest of his 75-year-old father.
Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
