NASSAU, BAHAMAS: A search is underway for five men who failed to return after leaving a dock in Porgy Bay, Bimini, aboard a white twin-engine vessel for a fishing trip.
According to the preliminary report, shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, a woman contacted police.
She reported that her brother, along with four other men, had departed from a dock in Porgy Bay at approximately 11:30 a.m. aboard a white, twin-engine vessel for a fishing trip.
The men have not returned, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force, along with the Police Marine Support and Services Branch, has been notified, and search efforts are ongoing.
Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information that may assist with this investigation.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact 911, 919, the nearest police station or the Criminal Investigation Department. Anonymous tips are also welcomed through Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477).
