BRX delivers strong industry turnout as real estate sector sees growing momentum

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- The Bahamas Real Estate Exchange (BRX) has concluded with a strong industry showing, drawing more than 200 developers, investors, bankers, regulators and real estate professionals for a full day of engagement and discussion.

Organisers say the event has cemented its role as a national platform for real estate dialogue, networking and opportunity, bringing together key stakeholders from across the sector.

Held at the British Colonial Hotel on April 18, the event brought together industry leaders for a full day of programming focused on the future of Bahamian real estate.

Founder and Chairman Daren Seymour said the forum continues to expand its reach and impact, connecting local professionals with international investors while supporting broader industry development and collaboration.

He said this year’s event reflected a growing vision for innovation and nation building, with technology helping to extend participation across the islands and to a global audience.

The conference featured discussions on market trends, investment opportunities across The Bahamas, development challenges, construction, and access to homeownership, along with a major focus on land adjudication and registered land reform aimed at improving transparency and modernising the property system.

Sessions also explored international development opportunities, emerging local projects and long-term strategies for sustainable growth in the Bahamian real estate sector.

Alongside the conference, the BRX Business Expo created a busy networking environment, allowing attendees to engage directly with exhibitors, financial institutions and service providers throughout the day.

Organisers also unveiled the BRX app, designed to improve connectivity and engagement within the industry.

HG Christie served as a major sponsor of the event, with President and Managing Broker John Christie praising its execution and impact, saying it continues to deliver value and insight across all levels of the profession.

Participants echoed similar sentiments, with RBC FINCO Vice President Dwight R. Burrows calling the event a standout experience and highlighting the quality of discussion and networking opportunities.

“Outstanding execution by entire BRX team on delivering a world-class event,” Burrows said. “Bringing together such a strong cross-section of respected and experienced stakeholders to engage on critical real estate matters is no small feat—and it showed in the quality of the conversations throughout the day. The energy in the room was undeniable. Dynamic, engaged participants filled the halls, creating an environment that was not only informative, but genuinely impactful. Without question, this stands out for me as the best real estate business forum I’ve experienced.”

He also highlighted the expo component, saying: “A special mention to the expo that filled the halls on the second floor. This was a standout feature. The space was alive throughout the day, with a steady flow of engaged participants moving between sessions and exhibitors. It created a seamless extension of the discussions inside, allowing for real-time connections, practical insights, and meaningful networking.”

Scotiabank’s Kara Davis also praised the initiative, describing it as an important platform for sharing knowledge and supporting growth in the sector, saying, “This second BRX Expo was amazing. Bringing the experts in the field together to give good info and guidance. Please keep going, with a goal of enlightening our people for a better Bahamas.”

The event also featured a partnership with The University of the West Indies, which issued Certificates of Participation to attendees, reinforcing its focus on education and professional development.

With strong turnout and sustained engagement, BRX continues to position itself as a key platform for collaboration, innovation and growth within The Bahamas’ real estate industry.
