NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Two foreign nationals have been arrested in Inagua following the seizure of a firearm containing ammunition and 64 cans of suspected marijuana-infused drinks from a sport fishing vessel.
According to a preliminary report, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Monday, 10th August 2026, officers attached to the Drug Enforcement Unit, assisted by officers from the Inagua Division, conducted a search of a sport fishing vessel at the Government Dock in Matthew Town.
During the search, officers discovered and confiscated a firearm containing a quantity of ammunition.
As a result, a 42-year-old American national and a 33-year-old Mexican national were arrested and cautioned in connection with the discovery.
A further search of the vessel resulted in the discovery of 64 cans of suspected marijuana-infused drinks.
Both men were subsequently cautioned in connection with this additional discovery.
The estimated value of the suspected marijuana-infused drinks is $640.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
