Traffic officials continued to warn motorists to drive with due care and attention Monday and sent a stern warning to road users following three traffic fatalities over the weekend.

The spike, according to traffic police, is cause for concern.

On Sunday, a man reportedly lost control of his vehicle, then crashed and died.

With 45 plus traffic fatalities already recorded for the year, traffic officials said The Bahamas is well on its way to surpassing 2017 stats, which stood at 54.

Traffic officials pointed to a number of contributing factors and raised the alarm on the increasing hit and run accidents that have occurred for the year.
