NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Police have launched an investigation after a 19-year-old woman was shot while sitting on the porch of a Bain Town residence Thursday morning.
According to police, shortly before 8:48 a.m., officers were alerted that a woman had been shot in the West Street area and responded to the scene.
Police said the victim told officers she was plaiting her boyfriend’s hair on the porch when an unknown man, dressed in a black jacket and wearing a mask, jumped over the property’s fence and fired a single shot in her direction.
The woman was struck in the leg.
Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to hospital for treatment.
Police said her condition was unknown up to press time.
Investigations continue.
