NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Fusion Superplex has moved to quash rumours that the Applebee’s restaurant located within its entertainment complex is closing.
Responding to an Eyewitness News inquiry, Fusion Superplex Co-Founder and Chief Legal Officer Tecoyo Bridgewater dismissed the speculation, saying, “It’s business as usual at Applebee’s.”
The assurance was echoed by a spokesman for Caribbean Dining, the Applebee’s and IHOP franchise holder, who stated: “Applebee’s is open.”
The statements come amid reports circulating on social media suggesting the restaurant had ceased operations.
Applebee’s opened at Fusion Superplex on Gladstone Road in January 2025. In addition to traditional restaurant dining, the location allows moviegoers to enjoy Applebee’s food and beverages inside the complex’s VIP theatres.
While the restaurant remains open, Fusion Superplex has faced significant operational challenges this year. In March, the entertainment complex was crippled by a Qilin ransomware attack that exfiltrated sensitive data and disrupted critical systems, including ticketing, payroll and online booking platforms.
Fusion has been working to recover from the cyberattack while continuing normal operations.
