NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Police in Abaco are investigating the alleged drowning of a 27-year-old Haitian male that occurred on Tuesday, 11th August 2026, in waters near Man-O-War Cay.
According to the preliminary report, shortly after 3:00 p.m., the victim was aboard a vessel with three other males when he entered the water to dive for conch. While in the water, he reportedly experienced difficulties and subsequently became unresponsive.
The victim was retrieved from the water and transported to the Marsh Harbour Healthcare Centre, where he was later pronounced dead by a local physician.
An autopsy is expected to be conducted to assist in determining the exact cause of death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
