NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Police in Andros have launched an investigation after an 18-year-old woman was allegedly found unconscious following an attempt to harm herself in Nicholls Town.
On Saturday, 8th August 2026, police launched an investigation into an alleged suicide attempt involving an 18-year-old female in the community of Nicholls Town, Andros.
The preliminary report indicates that shortly after 3:00 p.m., police were alerted by medical personnel that a female was receiving treatment at a local clinic after allegedly attempting to harm herself. At the time, the patient was unconscious and receiving medical attention.
Officers subsequently proceeded to the clinic, where they were informed by medical personnel that the female had allegedly ingested a large quantity of prescribed medication. As a result, she reportedly experienced seizures before collapsing.
Medical personnel stabilised the patient, who was subsequently airlifted to New Providence for further medical treatment and evaluation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
