NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Police in Grand Bahama are investigating an alleged suicide attempt involving a 13-year-old female at a residence on Honduras Drive on Friday, August 7th, 2026.
According to the preliminary report, shortly after 6:00 p.m., police received information that the juvenile was reportedly attempting to harm herself, prompting a request for police assistance.
Officers responded to the scene, where they met Emergency Medical Services personnel attending to the juvenile.
She was reportedly found in and out of consciousness inside a bathroom, in possession of a bag containing prescribed medication.
The juvenile was transported to hospital, where she received further medical treatment and evaluation.
Her condition is currently unknown.
Police are liaising with the juvenile’s stepmother and other relatives to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
