Abaco hurricane shelter pegged to be completed by Dec. 2024

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The long awaited hurricane shelter in Marsh Harbour, Abaco is on track to be completed by December 2024 according to Disaster Risk Management Authority (DRM) Managing Director Aarone Sargent. Eyewitness News got an exclusive look at the project on Tuesday morning, which according to officials is nearly 75 percent complete.

The project, which has cost some $4.5 million dollars to date, reportedly encountered some major roadblocks which delayed its original completion, according to Project Manager Chris Symonette. However, he assured that those issues have “mostly been rectified.”
