Izaak Bastian was the sole competitor representing The Bahamas yesterday in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
Bastian finished seventh in the third heat of the men’s 200-metre (m) breaststroke 2:22.37, failing to qualify for the semifinal round.
Caspar Corbeau, from the Netherlands, won the race 2:15.38, followed by Jiajun Sun, from China, in 2:16.77 and American Ethan Dang in 2:18.69.
Bastian concludes his time at the championships today in the men’s 50m breast.
The athletic portion of the event also begins today. Team Bahamas will be represented by Drian Curry, Megan Moss, Shaun Miller, Matthew Thompson and Raymond Oriakh.
