NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the alleged drowning of a 40-year-old man at a resort in South Bahamia on Monday afternoon.
According to investigators, officers were called to the resort shortly before 4:30 p.m. after receiving reports of an unresponsive man in a swimming pool. Emergency Medical Services personnel administered CPR, but despite prolonged resuscitation efforts, the man showed no signs of life.
Police say the man’s girlfriend told investigators he had been swimming in the deep end of the pool when she noticed him sink beneath the water. She immediately alerted the resort’s building manager, who helped remove him from the pool before CPR was administered until EMS arrived.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
