NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Police are investigating two separate stabbing incidents that left two men hospitalized and resulted in the arrests of a 55-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman.
In the first incident, officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. Monday to Trinidad Avenue, where they found a 45-year-old man suffering from an apparent stab wound to the back. Police say the victim and another man became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with a sharp object. The victim was initially listed in serious condition but has since been treated and discharged.
In the second incident, shortly after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a report of a man being taken to hospital with stab wounds. Investigators say the 38-year-old victim had returned home when he allegedly began physically assaulting a woman. During the altercation, he was reportedly stabbed with a sharp object. He remains in critical condition after undergoing surgery for a wound to his left collarbone.
Police say both suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
