NASSAU, BAHAMAS: A 32-year-old wanted suspect is in police custody after an officer assigned to the Tourism Patrol Unit allegedly discovered two high-powered weapons and a quantity of ammunition during a patrol on Monday afternoon.
Police say shortly after 5 p.m., the officer was walking along Cunningham Lane, just off Nassau Street near West Street, when he observed three men sitting inside a vehicle acting suspiciously. As the officer approached and identified himself, two of the men fled the scene on foot.
The remaining occupant was ordered out of the vehicle, where officers allegedly recovered the firearms and ammunition. Police later determined the suspect was wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation and had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. Investigations are continuing.
