Strong Q1 performance drives Nassau Cruise Port momentum at Seatrade Cruise Global 2026

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Nassau Cruise Port, the world’s largest transit cruise port, highlighted a strong start to 2026, marked by robust first-quarter growth, ongoing infrastructure expansion, and an enhanced visitor experience during its participation at Seatrade Cruise Global 2026. The event further reinforced the port’s standing as one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic and fast-evolving cruise destinations.

Held April 13–16, 2026, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Seatrade Cruise Global provided a key platform for the Nassau Cruise Port team to engage cruise line partners, industry leaders, and international stakeholders, while showcasing both its recent performance gains and forward-looking development strategy.

Nassau Cruise Port entered 2026 with strong momentum, delivering notable improvements across key performance indicators. Total passenger volumes increased by nearly 15%, rising from 1.6 million to 1.8 million, while ship calls grew by 5.5%, reflecting sustained demand and continued confidence from cruise line partners.

“Our performance reflects the strength of our partnerships and the continued appeal of Nassau as a premier cruise destination,” said Mike Maura, Jr, CEO & Director. “At Seatrade, we had the opportunity to build on that momentum, share our progress, and highlight what’s next for Nassau Cruise Port.”

Building on this growth, the port is advancing a new phase of development aimed at deepening the guest experience. The highly anticipated Bahama Bay pool and day club is scheduled to open within weeks, introducing a vibrant waterfront attraction designed to enhance passenger enjoyment and dwell time. This expansion comes alongside continued growth in shore excursions, supported by a wider range of local experiences as well as strengthened retail, food, and beverage offerings that further integrate visitors into the local economy.

In addition, the completion of the marina expansion in November has significantly enhanced the port’s capacity, allowing it to accommodate up to six mega-yachts simultaneously. This positions Nassau more firmly as both a premier cruise hub and an emerging destination for luxury and boutique maritime traffic.

The port’s participation at Seatrade Cruise Global also underscored its ongoing collaboration with national stakeholders, including the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, in a unified effort to elevate The Bahamas’ global tourism profile. Following its transformative redevelopment, Nassau Cruise Port continues to redefine the passenger experience through modern infrastructure, authentic Bahamian retail and entertainment, and a strong commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

As the cruise industry continues to evolve, Nassau Cruise Port remains focused on innovation, strategic partnerships, and delivering long-term value for The Bahamas.
