Solvency rate drops following recent murders says Commissioner Fernander

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Commissioner of Police Clayton Fernander disclosed that in the wake of last week’s murders, the homicide clearance rate has declined. Just weeks ago, police authorities informed the media that the clearance rate for homicides was in the high seventies for the year. However, in light of the recent surge in violence, this percentage has now dropped.

During the span from Tuesday, July 16, to Monday, July 22, there were nine murders in less than a week, with homicides reported every day except Wednesday.
