NASSAU, BAHAMAS- With just over a week before the official start of crawfish season, the Department of Marine Resources has released a video advising stakeholders in the fishing community and the public on regulations for harvesting the sea creatures.
Assistant Fisheries Officer Ervanna Moss stated that the season runs from August 1st to March 31st. She emphasized several regulations, including the minimum harvesting size of crawfish, which is 5 ½ inches in length.
The crawfish season is officially closed from April 1st to July 31st each year.
