Salary increase agreement between BCPMU and BTC inked

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Bahamas Communications and Public Managers Union (BCPMU) has signed a four-year industrial agreement with the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) today at the British Colonial.

The agreement includes a salary-based increase for BTC managers.

According to BTC officials, negotiations spanned five months, and all stakeholders reached a consensus on the agreement, which is retroactive to 2023.

Under the terms, managers will receive a double increment paid in cash, followed by a 3% salary increase in the first year, a 4% increase in the second year, and an additional 3% increase in the final year.

BCPMU President Kendrick Knowles expressed gratitude to BTC for its partnership and affirmed that union members would honor the agreement throughout its four-year term. He also expressed hope that the company would uphold its commitments.

BTC’s Director of People, Darron Turnquest, highlighted that the agreement reflects the company’s appreciation for its staff and its commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
