NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man was shot and killed by police on Wednesday night on Quintine Alley off Wulff Road.
According to police reports, the incident happened around 10:00 p.m., when officers responded to a call of an armed man firing gunshots in the area.
Reports indicate that the armed man was on top of a roof and reportedly fired several shots at the officers and ran toward Woods Alley.
Police say officers on Woods Alley discovered the suspect running from nearby bushes in their direction. They said the suspect then reached in his pants, which resulted in officers firing shots at him.
The man was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Officers said they also recovered a plastic bag of drugs at the scene. The matter has been turned over to the coroner’s court for investigation.
Eyewitness News records show that this is the ninth police-involved killing for the year.
