A new mobile application presently under development by the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) will allow residents to report crimes anonymously, the national security minister said recently.
Police, Public, Private Partnership or P3TIPS, according to Marvin Dames, is expected to strengthen the partnership between officers and the public.
With 52 murders on record for the year, Dames said, the online platform will allow all citizens the ability to do their part.
Once fully developed, the app will be available for download in both the Apple and Google Play Stores.
Sargent Dale Strachan, attached to the Central Detective Unit (CDU), also noted that citizens can send pictures and videos of a crime in progress to the police through the application.
