NASSAU, BAHAMAS: A 23-year-old man was gunned down in what police believe was a targeted attack after he was ambushed by occupants of a vehicle while walking along Lyon Road, off Kemp Road, Thursday night.
According to preliminary reports, shortly after 10:00 p.m., police received information that a male had been shot in the area. Officers from the Mobile Division responded and discovered the victim lying unresponsive in nearby bushes. He was dressed in a white T-shirt, black jacket, long black pants and black tennis shoes, and had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Emergency Medical Services personnel examined the victim and confirmed there were no signs of life.
Initial investigations indicate the deceased had recently left a business establishment on Lyon Road and was walking north along the roadway when he was approached by unknown person(s) traveling in a black Japanese-model vehicle. The occupants allegedly opened fire, fatally wounding him before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
Police investigations are ongoing.
