NASSAU, BAHAMAS: A 17-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after allegedly ingesting a quantity of medication in an attempt to harm herself in Holmes Rock, Grand Bahama.
According to the initial report, shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13th, officers at the Eight Mile Rock Police Station received information from a concerned citizen that the teenager had ingested a quantity of medication with the intention of harming herself. At the time, she was reportedly conscious.
Officers responded to the scene and located the teenager. Emergency Medical Services attended and assessed her before transporting her to hospital for medical treatment and further evaluation.
Preliminary information indicates that the teenager had reportedly become overwhelmed and depressed following a conversation with a family member and subsequently ingested the medication. Her current condition is unknown.
