NASSAU, BAHAMAS: A 37-year-old police officer died in hospital after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle at Prince Charles Drive and Garden Road on Saturday, 12th September, 2026.
Shortly before 2:00 p.m., police were alerted to the incident, and officers were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers observed a police motorcycle that had sustained extensive damage and found the male officer suffering from injuries.
A white Suzuki motor vehicle, driven by a male and occupied by a female passenger, was also damaged in the collision. The female passenger reported sustaining head injuries.
Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and provided medical assistance. The injured officer was subsequently transported to hospital for further medical treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Monday, 14th September, 2026.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the male officer was travelling west along Prince Charles Drive when the driver of the white Suzuki vehicle reportedly turned right onto Garden Road, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.
The investigation remains ongoing.
