Former HOA speaker to lie in state tomorrow

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The body of the late Oswald Ingraham, former member of Parliament, speaker of the House of Assembly and deputy to the governor general, will lie in state in the foyer of the House of Assembly tomorrow, Thursday, December 10, from 9am to 3pm, the Cabinet office announced today.

Family members and invited dignitaries will view the body between 9am and noon.

Viewing for the general public will be from noon to 3pm.

As the House of Assembly building is a public domain, wearing of masks is mandatory, as is social distancing and adherence to and observance of all relevant health protocols.

Ingraham passed away at the age of 83 at Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday, November 23.

He is survived by his wife, Marie, and children Terry, Dwight, Wayne, Jackie, Wendy and Velma.
