Embattled officer kicked to the curb

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Sergeant # 2373 Prince Symonette was discharged from the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) on 2nd December 2024.

A statement from the RBPF said the move comes in reference to the indictment of police officers in a Federal Court in New York and in accordance with Section 21 (1) (c) of the Police Act 2009.

In addition, a recommendation was reportedly made for Chief Superintendent Elvis Nathaniel Curtis to be officially discharged from the Royal Bahamas Police Force because he has ceased to become an efficient Police Officer. Hence, his dismissal is in the best interest of the public in accordance with Regulation 42(1) Part V of the Police Service Commission Regulations.
