NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Cable Bahamas’ top executive said the company has been working to facilitate the increased demand on its network due to remote learning and working.

Franklyn Butler, the BISX-listed communications provider’s president and chief executive told Eyewitness News: “We have been trying to work with all of our customers.

“With more people working from home and on the go, we have had various complaints that we have been trying to manage and we have really been focusing on how we can think differently and pivot.

“We have been trying to add capacity on the network in areas where we have needed to augment service for video conferencing.

“We continue to have all of our team members focus on making sure we provide a quality product to those consumers, who like us, are trying to work remotely in the face of COVID-19.”

With major resorts shuttered for months due to the fall-out from the pandemic, Butler noted the company has seen its bottom line significantly impacted.

“Service to the resorts is a significant part of our business,” he said.

“The revenue we get from that business is fairly sizeable. It certainly has impacted our business. It’s nothing to take for granted.

“We have been looking at how we can think differently, pivot and take care of the home subscribe.”
