NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Miss Black International Ambassador (MBIA) competition is currently being held from June 21 to 27, 2021 at Baha Mar Grand Hyatt Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.
The leading and renowned pageant competition exists to give a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Black women globally to serve as ambassadors of change and to encourage, empower and enlighten communities, states and nations. These agents are rising voices in the community that seek to make a difference by providing educational forums and events that focus on health disparities, poverty, violence and major issues plaguing the Black community. They are role models not only to young African American women but to women around the world. They partner with key political figures and international initiatives to bring support to their efforts and platforms.
MBIA title holders are more than a pretty face and the program is more than a competition. MBIA is a program that gives 365 days of support and resources to communities in need. The program is a platform for today’s savvy, smart and aware Black women to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to the international community while offering scholarships and grant opportunities to further their education or entrepreneurial goals.
The leading pageant competition champions their mission through their organizational established nonprofit: Ambassadors of Change Inc. (AOC), which aims to provide programs that focus on community involvement, leadership development, health and wellness and women’s empowerment. Its goals are to host educational forums and events that focus on health disparities, poverty, violence and significant issues plaguing communities worldwide. AOC is gearing up for its eighth year of empowering women to be change agents in the community. Its programming has reached over 5,000 youth and women across 37 states and territories and 10 countries. In 2021, MBIA hopes to reach thousands more.
