NASSAU, BAHAMAS:
Police arrested a 29-year-old male after confiscating a firearm and a quantity of ammunition in Gambier Village on Wednesday, 19th August 2026.
According to the preliminary report, shortly before 12:00 p.m., officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, assisted by the Canine Support Unit while armed with a search warrant and acting on information received, proceeded to a residence in Gambier Village.
Upon the officers’ arrival, a male fled the area on foot, prompting a brief pursuit. During the pursuit, officers observed the male throw an object into a nearby bushy area.
The male was quickly apprehended and subdued. Officers subsequently searched the area where the object was seen being discarded and discovered a firearm containing a quantity of ammunition.
The male was arrested and cautioned in connection with the incident.
