Women’s Golf Day 2024 Tees Off

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The inaugural Women’s Golf Day 2024 is set to take place at the Sports Center Golf Academy, Nine Holes Golf Course, on May 31 from 4pm to 8 pm and June 1st from 8 am to 2 pm.

Organized by the Bahamas Women’s Golf Association and Flamingos Women’s Golf Club 242, Women’s Golf Day (WGD) aims to transform the golfing landscape by making the sport fun, accessible, and empowering for women and girls worldwide.

Agatha DeLancy, Founding President of the Bahamas Women’s Golf Association and founding Chairman of the Women’s Golf Club 242 Flamingos, succinctly expressed the tournament’s mission: “We’re here to empower women through the game of golf and take the lead in growing and developing women’s golf.”

With a lineup of esteemed participants, including Sports Hall of Fame inductees Agatha DeLancy and Patti Symonette and Craig Flowers, the driving force behind the Nine Holes Golf Course and Range, the event promises to be a star-studded affair. Stephen Bain and Georgette Rolle will also participate.

The Women’s Golf Day Tournament weekend features a myriad of activities catering to golfers of all skill levels. On May 31, starting at 4 p.m., participants can indulge in Instruction Clinics for Beginners, a thrilling Chipping and Putting competition, and walking play of one hole. Engaging golf presentations will be sprinkled with brief history lessons, fun facts, and an evening cocktail reception. June 1st marks the tournament day, kicking off at 8 a.m., followed by an awards presentation to honor the champions.

What sets Women’s Golf Day apart is its unique features designed to ensure a memorable experience for all attendees. From exclusive Golf Clinics hosted by professionals to networking opportunities with ladies from all walks of life, participants can expect to win prizes, savor delicious food and drinks, and enjoy a day filled with family-friendly fun.

“We want to convey the message that golf is accessible, fun, and empowering,” said DeLancy. “Regardless of age or skill level, women can find joy and fulfillment through the game of golf. Our aim is to focus on women of all ages and develop, encourage, and empower them on and off the course.”

Registration for the Women’s Golf Day Tournament is open to ALL with a target audience primarily comprising women, but men and youth are also invited to join in the festivities. Each registrant will receive a goodie bag filled with exciting surprises, adding to the excitement of the event.
