NASSAU, BAHAMAS- A 23-year-old man shot in Bain Town on Friday, August 16, 2024, has died from his injuries. Police were alerted shortly before 2:00 p.m. by ShotSpotter technology, detecting gunfire on Hospital Lane off Meadow Street. Initial reports indicate that the victim was at a local eatery when a lone gunman approached and shot him in the upper torso. The victim fled the scene and was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, where he was initially listed in serious condition. The investigation is ongoing. This marks the country’s 81st homicide.
