NASSAU, BAHAMAS: Two men were taken to hospital after armed assailants opened fire on a group gathered outside a Reeves Street residence in Fox Hill on Sunday evening.
Police said the victims, ages 22 and 31, sustained gunshot wounds during the incident, which occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. on August 23, 2026.
According to the preliminary report, ShotSpotter technology detected gunfire in the Reeves Street area, prompting officers to respond.
Upon arrival, officers found one man suffering from a gunshot wound to the right shoulder and another with a gunshot wound to the left leg.
Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and transported both victims to hospital for medical treatment.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a group of people was gathered in front of a residence when a blue vehicle pulled up. Two armed men reportedly exited the vehicle and discharged firearms in the group’s direction before returning to the vehicle and fleeing toward Bernard Road.
The suspect vehicle was subsequently recovered in the Bay Lily Drive area and processed for evidentiary purposes.
Detectives later visited the hospital and were informed that one of the victims was listed in stable condition. An updated condition for the second victim was unavailable at the time of the report.
The investigation remains ongoing.
