Two men arrested following drug and firearm confiscation

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — On Sunday, 11th January, 2026, law enforcement officers arrested two males following the
confiscation of a firearm and suspected drugs.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 11:00 a.m., officers attached to Operation Black Scorpion executed a search warrant at a residence on Quakoo Street, occupied by two males, aged 49 and 42. During the operation, one of the occupants fled from the residence and discarded an object. Officers immediately apprehended the individual, and a search of the area where the object was discarded led to the discovery of a firearm containing ammunition.

Additionally, with the assistance of the Police Canine Support Unit, a quantity of suspected drugs was also discovered during the search. Both men were arrested in connection with this incident.

The investigation continues.
