Turtlegrass welcomes board decision to admit environmental evidence in Rosewood development appeal

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Turtlegrass says it is pleased that the Subdivision and Development Board has admitted its expert evidence relating to alleged environmental impacts associated with Yntegra’s Rosewood development on Sampson Cay in the Exumas, after objections were raised by the developer’s legal team.

In a statement, Turtlegrass said: “We are very pleased that the Subdivision and Development Board (SDAB) has admitted our expert evidence on the environmental damage associated with Yntegra’s project, rejecting their lawyers’ attempt to gag us.”

The group said the objections raised by Yntegra did not address the substance of the environmental reports, noting that the dispute centred on whether the evidence should be considered in the appeal process.

Turtlegrass also pointed to earlier proceedings, saying that at a preliminary hearing on May 11, 2026, Yntegra’s lawyers reserved the right to review the reports before making objections. The group further referenced a 53-page submission filed shortly before the latest hearing, in which Yntegra argued that the Appeal Board should not consider evidence beyond the original record from the Town Planning Committee hearing.

Turtlegrass said the timing of that submission limited its ability to respond fully, adding that parties should be given adequate time to address legal arguments raised during proceedings.

As a result of the board’s decision to admit the evidence, the matter has been adjourned.

Turtlegrass said it remains confident in its position, stating: “Turtlegrass is confident in the merits of its position and the contents of its expert evidence.”
