Symonette named ASUN Player of the Week

Lipscomb University senior Tevin Symonette continues to climb the collegiate baseball rankings.

Yesterday, he was named as the ASUN conference’s Player of the Week after coming up big for the Bisons over the weekend in a series against Stetson University. Over the course of the two games, Symonette hit .500 with three home runs and four RBI. He also recorded double-digit putouts in the outfield, highlighted by several diving catches.

As it now stands, Symonette ranks first on the Bisons home run list with five. He’s also driven in 24 runs on the season and is one of the best base-stealers in the conference as he is fourth in the ASUN with 11 stolen bases. This is Symonette’s first Player of the Week award in his career.

On Sunday, Symonette was also honored on Lipscomb’s Senior Day. Symonette started 36 of his 37 appearances this season. He is hitting .270 with a .376 OBP and a team leading .516 slugging percentage. He has also totalled 34 hits, one triple, with 26 RBI and 22 runs scored.
