A police reservist was charged Wednesday with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Dwayne Decosta, 54, is accused of being sexually involved with a 13-year-old female on July 14, 2018 at the East Street South Police Station.
Decosta appeared before Magistrate Soubusola Swain and was not required to enter a plea. Bail was denied and he is expected to return to court on October 18.
He was relieved of his duties as a reserve sergeant an hour before he made his first court appearance.
