Police investigating death of electronically monitored 23-year-old man in Exuma

NASSAU,BAHAMAS: Police in Exuma are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man whose body was discovered in shallow water near Madam Dau’s Cay, on the northern side of Queen’s Highway, Barraterre, on Wednesday.
Police say they were first alerted shortly after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday that an electronically monitored individual was in distress. After initial searches proved unsuccessful, specialist officers from New Providence, using drone technology, Canine Support Services and the Electronic Monitoring Unit, joined an extensive search on Wednesday. The man was found shortly before 2:00 p.m. lying on his back in shallow water, wearing a maroon button-up shirt and shorts, with visible blood around his ear and nose and abrasions to his hands and legs. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death. Investigations continue.
