Police investigate two armed robberies

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Police are seeking information regarding two armed robberies that occurred on Friday, August 16, 2024.

The first incident took place just before 8:00 p.m. outside a residence on Marigold Farm Road, off Joe Farrington Road. According to preliminary reports, the victim was seated in his black Suzuki Swift, license plate #AH9620, when a green Japanese vehicle stopped nearby. An unknown male passenger, armed with a firearm, exited the vehicle, confronted the victim, and robbed him of cash and his vehicle. The suspect then fled eastward, followed by the accomplice’s vehicle. Responding officers later recovered the stolen vehicle abandoned near Beach Tree Avenue, off Charles Saunders Highway.

The second incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. outside a business establishment on Gladstone Road. Initial reports indicate that after the victim exited his vehicle, he was approached by two unknown males, both armed with firearms, who robbed him of his silver 2014 Nissan Note, license plate #AY2053. The suspects then fled south on Gladstone Road.
