NASSAU, BAHAMAS : Police in Abaco have launched an investigation into a suspected arson incident that occurred on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in the Seven Hills Subdivision, North Abaco.
According to preliminary reports, at approximately 11:25 a.m., an anonymous caller contacted the Marsh Harbour Police Station to report that a trailer was on fire near a group of apartments and that the flames were spreading toward nearby bushes.
Officers responded to the scene and discovered a 30-foot trailer fully engulfed in flames. Volunteer fire services were called in to assist; however, despite their efforts, the blaze destroyed the trailer.
Police have received information indicating that a blue Japanese vehicle displaying a rental license plate was seen in the area around the time of the incident. Investigators are actively working to identify the vehicle and its occupants who may be connected to the incident.
In addition, a male resident of the trailer informed police that the trailer belongs to his former girlfriend. He reported that the fire resulted in the loss of his official identification documents, tools, clothing, and other personal belongings, with estimated damages totalling approximately $12,000.
The investigation continues.
