NASSAU, BAHAMAS -Authorities are on the hunt for a male suspect involved in an armed robbery who reportedly dropped his weapon as he was pursued by the police; the incident unfolded on Monday August 19, 2024.
According to preliminary reports, officers were on routine mobile patrols near Collins Avenue and Sixth Terrace around 11:00 p.m. when they were stopped by a male who was reportedly robbed at gunpoint of cash outside a business establishment and shot by an unknown male, causing a graze to his left calf.
Officers observed the suspect fleeing north on Collins Avenue and engaged in a foot pursuit, police said.
The suspect fired his weapon at the pursuing officers, resulting in a brief exchange, but eluded officers as he hurdled over a perimeter fence, dropping his firearm, which was later retrieved by officers, according to investigators.
