Police confiscate firearm and arrest teenager

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Officers from Operation Secure City 2.0 (Southern) arrested a teenage male and confiscated an unlicensed firearm on Saturday 10th August, 2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that officers were conducting patrols around 7:00 p.m. when they observed a male acting suspiciously walking on Milton Street who, shortly thereafter, discarded an object into a bushy area, alerting the officers to approach and detain him.
After searching the area, the officers discovered a firearm containing ammunition, resulting in the arrest of the 15-year-old juvenile. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
