One of the bodyguards of Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis was stabbed multiple times on Saturday morning, following an argument with a security guard outside Dunkin Donuts on East Street South.
According to police reports, shortly after 10:00 a.m. the on-duty officer was attacked by a man armed with a knife, who stabbed him about the body. The officer was transported to hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.
Police have taken a 26-year-old male into custody in connection with this incident, and investigations are ongoing.

They claimed that the officer was double parked in front of the business when he was asked by the security guard to fix his vehicle. It was reported that an argument ensued and the security was reportedly slapped by the officer.
The officer then allegedly reached for his service revolver and this is when the security guard allegedly pulled out a pocket knife. Following a scuffle, the officer was stabbed.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating a shooting incident on Friday which left an adult male in hospital.
According to reports, shortly after 8:00 p.m., a man was walking on Constitution Drive in Chippingham, when he was approached by a male armed with a firearm who shot him before running away. The victim was assisted to hospital and is listed in stable condition.
