Pedestrian struck by vehicle while leaving the beach

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Officers from the Traffic Division are investigating a traffic accident that has left a 21-year-old female with serious injuries.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m., on Friday 29th June, 2024, on West Bay Street, west of Sandy Port.

Preliminary reports indicate that the victim and her family were leaving the beach when the female was struck by the driver of a gold Japanese model vehicle.

The victim received serious injuries and was taken to the hospital via EMS personnel, where she was treated and discharged on Sunday 30th
June, 2024, police said.

The 44-year-old male driver is assisting police with their investigations into this matter.
