Nurses want permanent status handled

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — President of The Bahamas Nurses Union Muriel Lightbourne told media Monday afternoon that nurses are tired of feeling overlooked by the government, namely when it comes to transitioning nurses to permanent employment status.

Lightbourne shared that some nurses have been waiting since 2016 to be confirmed as permanent within the public healthcare system. “It is an injustice as it conflicts with nurses personal affairs,” she asserted.
