No new power station for Andros until 2025

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — A new power plant will take up to two years to build on the island of Andros, according to CEO of Bahamas Power and Light Shavaughn Cambridge.

After a devastating fire in early July at BPL’s power plant in Nicholls Town, North Andros left residents in the dark, Cambridge says they are now looking to build a hybrid plant to be more eco-friendly.
