NHI payment may require another tax

The Bahamas Government has announced its intention to introduce catastrophic care under the first phase of the National Health Insurance (NHI) plan.
But, while $20 million has been allocated for the plan, Health Minister Dr. Duane Sands said that the government is still considering how Bahamians will pay for NHI.
According to the minister, that payment could come in the form of another tax.
