NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Minister of National Security Wayne Munroe has discredited information compiled in a United Nations (UN) preliminary report that reviewed the state of the prison and detention centers in New Providence.

The UN report indicated that inmates alleged that their Human Rights were being infringed upon, they made claims of police brutality, the inability to receive family visits, slow or delayed judicial proceedings, and alleged arrests without warrants.

The minister noted that the preliminary report only documents one side of the story and revealed that upon further review by his ministry and the armed forces; necessary changes will be made where applicable.
