NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Nassau Cruise Port (NCP) is marking its sixth anniversary with a new wave of developments aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and strengthening its contribution to the Bahamian economy. The milestone celebration comes as the port unveils a new swimming pool, an expanded marina, and a state-of-the-art ferry terminal that will service the Royal Beach Club currently under construction on Paradise Island.
Since its $300 million redevelopment, Nassau Cruise Port — the largest transit cruise port in the world — has welcomed millions of visitors and transformed into one of the most vibrant and visited cruise destinations globally. The latest expansion underscores NCP’s dual commitment to delivering world-class amenities while fostering deeper connections between visitors and the local community.
“This milestone represents much more than the passage of time,” said Mike Maura, Jr., CEO and Director of Nassau Cruise Port. “It reflects our promise to continually elevate the guest experience, contribute to the local economy, and provide opportunities for Bahamians. During our first year (2019) of operating the Nassau Cruise Port, Nassau welcomed approximately 3.85 million cruise guests, and 2025 will see well over 6 million cruise visitors visit Nassau. Our focus on driving cruise tourism and the $350 million investment in our downtown waterfront is a testament to our vision of making Nassau a premier cruise and leisure destination.”
The new swimming pool offers visitors a refreshing waterfront experience, while the expanded marina will accommodate more yachts, further stimulating tourism and local business activity. Meanwhile, the upgraded ferry terminal is designed to improve passenger flow and provide seamless transfers to the Royal Beach Club, reinforcing Nassau’s status as a central hub for Caribbean cruising and leisure.
In celebration of the anniversary, NCP is also hosting a series of events recognizing its team members and highlighting the port’s ongoing investment in the Bahamian economy through job creation, vendor partnerships, and cultural showcases that celebrate Bahamian heritage and creativity.
The anniversary comes as Nassau Cruise Port continues to play a pivotal role in reshaping the downtown waterfront, attracting record visitor numbers, and creating new opportunities for Bahamian businesses and communities alike.
