NASSAU BAHAMAS — Police officials are investigating a brazen deadly shooting incident on Wednesday afternoon that left a Haitian man, said to be in his 40s, dead.
The victim has unofficially been identified as Lubens.
The incident happened through a dirt road off Carmichael Road, in an area where authorities say scrap metal workers are employed.
Responding officers found an unresponsive adult male lying on a dirt road with apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services were immediately requested.
EMS personnel arrived, examined the victim, and found that he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and showed no signs of life. His Majesty’s Coroner, who was also on the scene, officially pronounced the man deceased.
Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was last seen in conversation with the occupants of a white hatchback vehicle. The suspects allegedly approached him, demanded cash, and shot him multiple times after failing to obtain any money. The culprits then fled the scene.
