NASSAU, BAHAMAS — A man was arrested over the weekend after death threats were made against Prime Minister Philip Davis.
According to police, the death threats were made via a telephone call at Central Police Station on sometime around 8:20am on Saturday.
A man was reportedly taken into custody that same day, and police also seized a technological device for evidential purposes.
“The suspect is currently assisting police with their investigation in respect to this incident,” the statement read.
The call follows death threats placed earlier this month at the Office of the Prime Minister.
Earlier this month, two anonymous callers, believed to be men, phoned into the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and made death threats against Davis.
At the time, Commissioner of Police Clayton Fernander said Davis was not “scared” but officials are taking the threats seriously and have heightened security measures to ensure his safety and also OPM staff.
